Heliocentric Overdrive is a Philadelphia-based trio delivering a powerful blend of noise-pop and indie-rock infused with shoegaze textures and enveloping layers of reverb. Known for their electrifying stage presence and mesmerizing visuals, the band creates an immersive sonic experience that captivates audiences.

Heliocentric Overdrive began as a recording project during the pandemic, conceived by Tom Lugo, a stalwart of Philadelphia's indie-rock and shoegaze scene. Tom, recognized for his work with bands such as Stellarscope, Panophonic, Cielo Oceano, MAYU, and Under the Wire, brought his extensive experience to the project. The group’s debut EP, Weightless, received widespread attention, earning airplay on indie and college radio stations.

In 2023, Tom transformed Heliocentric Overdrive into a live act, enlisting bassist Ian Falcon and drummer Lem Pidlaoan to complete the lineup. Together, they released the singles “Burn It Down,” “Unnecessary,” and “Into the Stars” in 2025, further solidifying their reputation as a band to watch. Currently, they are recording new material, set for release in 2025, and planning a tour later in the year to support their forthcoming album.
